We are thrilled to announce that Bella Osborne has signed a deal for two more romantic comedies with Avon (HarperCollins). World English Rights were acquired by Cara Chimirri, senior commissioning editor at Avon, from Bella’s agent Kate Nash.
Both as-yet unnamed books are set to be seaside romantic comedies, featuring a stately home in need of rescuing and a café where friendships are formed between the unlikeliest of people, brimming with romance and certain to be perfect summer reads.
Midlands-based author Bella has written eight romantic comedies and in 2022 her rom com The Promise of Summer won the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s Jane-Wenham Jones Award for Romantic Comedy Novel of the Year. Her tenth novel, and second bookclub title, The Girls, came out in April 2022.
Bella Osborne said: “I am over the moon to be staying with the fabulous team at Avon, HarperCollins, and to be able to bring my readers two more summer rom coms. The characters for my summer 2023 story are both feisty so there will be plenty of fireworks when self starter Nancy Barraclough meets rich kid Freddy Astley-Davenport. Nancy needs a new PA and Freddy needs to prove to his parents that he can hold down a proper job. Surely it’s a perfect match?’’
“Readers will be thrilled at the news of two brand new romantic comedies from Bella Osborne,” said Kate Nash. “There’s only one reason Bella is an award winning and many times award nominated author, that’s because every novel from Bella is a five-star story full of humour and heart.”
The new contract will take Bella Osborne’s publishing with Avon up until 2024. Her latest summer romantic comedy, A Wedding at Sandy Cove, will be published in full in eBook and paperback on Thursday 21st July. It will be available from Sainsburys, Tesco and Asda, as well as high street bookshops.
