We are thrilled that Neil Lancaster’s Dead Man’s Grave has been longlisted for Bloody Scotland’s McIlvanney Prize for Scottish crime book of the year.
The start of a new Scotland-based crime series, described by Ian Rankin as ‘Jack Reacher meets Line of Duty’, Dead Man’s Grave sees DS Max Craigie and DI Janie Calder fight to stop a Glaswegian gang’s murderous vendetta, only to find their investigation hampered by elements within their own police force.
The winner will be revealed in Stirling and online on 17th September during the Bloody Scotland International Crime Writing Festival, with a prize of £1,000 and nationwide promotion in Waterstones.
Neil Lancaster is joined on the longlist by Craig Russell with Hyde (Constable), The Silent Daughter by Emma Christie (Wellbeck), Before the Storm by Alex Gray (Little, Brown), The Coffinmaker’s Garden by Stuart MacBride (HarperCollins), Still Life by Val McDermid (Little, Brown), The Cut by Chris Brookmyre (Little, Brown), and The Less Dead by Denise Mina (Vintage).
