We are delighted that The Promise of Summer by Bella Osborne has been shortlisted for The Jane Wenham-Jones Award for Romantic Comedy at the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s (RNA) 2022 Romantic Novel Awards.
Heartwarming and uplifting, The Promise of Summer follows the unlikely pairing of singleton Ruby and socially-awkward Curtis, as they work together to reunite a lost engagement ring with its owner. But can they find their own happy ever after along the way? It is published by Avon (HarperCollins) and was originally published as a four-part serial.
The award celebrates excellence in romantic fiction and was renamed this year (previously the Romantic Comedy Novel Award) in honour of the late Jane Wenham-Jones, author, broadcaster and compère for the Romantic Novel Awards for the past eleven years. The winner will be announced during the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s Romantic Novel Awards ceremony, which is being held in London on Monday 7th March 2022.
Bella says “I’m absolutely over the moon to be shortlisted in the RNA Awards for a fourth time. I have been so pleased with how much readers have fallen in love with the characters in The Promise of Summer especially as Curtis makes for an unusual hero. This is such an honour as the books are chosen by readers and making them happy is the ultimate accolade for any author.”
Bella Osborne is joined on the shortlist by Amber Crewe’s That Jewish Thing (Coronet, Hodder and Stoughton), Mr Right Across the Street by Kathryn Freeman (One More Chapter, HarperCollins), Life’s a Beach by Portia MacIntosh (Boldwood Books) and Love on Location by Lynne Shelby (Headline Accent).
